Performing

Was just trying to think of all the shows I have ever been in. I'll try and put them together in a list.

Primary School - Moving On (I think that's what it was called) - at that age I hated being on stage so didn't audition for a part so I was just paprazzi in one scene.

High School - Worked backstage on Grease
- Did lighting and sound for Circle of Life
- Was in Dance Club - We were part of the Easter Liturgy and Christmas Carol Service and performed at a school dance clubs show in the Sherman Theatre
- Was a chorus member in Bugsy Malone and played the Waitor

Performers - Was part of the Saturday School for 3 years. In total I performed 11 shows with them, we wrote a lot of our own shows, will try and list  them here:
Around the World in 80 Minutes, Cats, West Side Story in Roath, Mary Poppins (I was Mrs Banks)
(Wow that was a pathetic attempt but that's all I can remember off the top of my head!)

Class Act Youth Theatre - Chorus member and Gloria in Wizard of Oz and we did many variety performances that included songs and dances from the shows

Act 2 - Godspell, Lil Shop of Horrors (the best show I have been in so far), Honk!

St. Peter's Players Panto - Cinderella, Mother Goose, Dick Whittington, and another one but can't remember which!

That's all I can remember for the time being! But wow. As you can see, I just love performing. Am hoping to start at an amateur dramatics group here in London!

Million Minutes

Really excited about this - www.millionminutes.org <Check it out!

Million Minutes is a not-for-profit organisation enabling youth action and advocacy activities that give voice and support to young people (aged up to 25) to transform their lives and their world. That's because young people's energy and vibrancy is astonishing. We have faith in young people. We see a world in which young people enable the transformation needed for everyone to live a life of dignity.
So in May this year we're inviting young people and those who support them to create a million minutes of silence as an expression of solidarity and as a way to raise money. The money will be used to provide grants for new and existing projects throughout England and Wales as well as overseas.

Going to the launch tonight, really excited about it! I have committed to staying silent, which will be a challenge! But it's raising money for some brilliant projects - YCW (www.ycwimpact.com), The Jimmy Mizen Foundation (www.jimmymizen.org) and The Cardinal Hume Centre (www.cardinalhumecentre.org.uk) << Check them out!

The Climb

I can almost see it
That dream I'm dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"

Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking

But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I'm not breaking

I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going

And I, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on

'Cause there's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

Keep on moving, keep climbing
Keep the faith

Some of my thoughts!

If you can't handle me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best.

Everyday you grow in love and faith.
You learn something new everyday.
He works in mysterious ways to keep you guessing, to keep you learning.
He hides so you may actively seek him.
He gives you choices, so you might make mistakes, so that you may learn.

'Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young'
1 Timothy 4:12

'Each young person is worth more than all the gold in the world because they are sons and daughters of God' -  Cardinal Joseph Cardijn

'He has sent his angels to guard you and they will hold you in their arms so that you will not dash your foot against the stone'

How to make God laugh - tell him your plans.

Live Each Day as if it were on Purpose

I look back at my life and have no regrets, I can only smile at how far I have come :)
Together we can change the world
Individual actions may seem insignificant but together the small steps of many people can have an astonishing impact.

Look at my life, look at my heart
I have seen them fall apart
Now i'm ready to rise again
Look at my hopes, look at my dreams
I'm building bridges from these scenes
Now I'm ready to rise again

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the difference

My Wish

I heard this song for the first time at a retreat centre the weekend I had to make a decision to whether I was going to go straight to university or take a year out to work for YCW. It was amazing how relevant the song was and the people leading the retreat didn't even know that I was making the decision, it was pure luck. Well I think it was there for a very specific reason. I made a decision that night and I have never looked back.

I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow
and each road leads you where you want to go
and if you're faced with the choice and you have to choose
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you

And if one door opens to another door closed
I hope you keep on walking ‘til you find the window
If it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile

I hope you never look back but you never forget
All the ones who love you and the place you left
I hope you always forgive and you never regret
And you help somebody every chance you get
But more than anything, more than anything

My wish for you
Is that this life becomes all that you want it to
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small
You never need to carry more than you can hold
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to
I hope you know somebody loves you
And wants the same things too
Yeah, this is my wish
My wish for you

Because We Are Young

On May 1st 2010, the feast of St Joseph the Worker, young people across England and Wales came together at Westminster Cathedral in London to take part in YCW's 'Because You are Young' event. The day began with mass where we celebrated and gave thanks for the contribution that young people give to the Church and Society. On the steps of Westminster Cathedral young people took part in a rally where they stood up for young people and called for greater respect and dignity for 16-30 year olds. Envy, a friend of YCW and a very talented musician and singer wrote this song especially for the rally. For more info on the day visit www.ycwimpact.com/www.becauseweareyoung.org. I’m here ‘cause I support what you’re trying to do
Inspire the youth, via the truth
Dr. Seuss said “nobody’s you-er than you”
Like there’s only one me when I step in the booth
So find ya talent, aim & pursue
Don’t they make us look screwed in the news!?
Skewing the views, but that’s OK
It just means that we’ve all got something to prove
So that means YOU, must get ya voice heard
We all have a role, the world is your oyster
Know your worth, respect yourself
Life is too short there’s no time to loiter
Have FAITH, have HOPE, have GRACE
Have LOVE, have sense, stay safe
Our generation’s the future, we have the answers
It’s written all over your face
Keep your dignity, you should be proud
You are important, stand up & count
Stand up to the crowd
When you really have love for yourself then you will know how…

Because we are young
It’s like they don’t wanna hear us
Because we are young
It’s like they fear us, why?
Because we wear hoods?
Because we are young
We should support each other
Because we are young
We have all come together
But remember we won’t be young forever

I’m not trying to preach to the choir
You are all here ‘cause you’re trying to reach a bit higher
And God loves a tryer, I’m joking
You gotta set yourself on fire
You know inside, the wrong from right
Only you have the power to change your own life
We have different strengths, different types
But in somebody’s darkness, you are the light
What’s the meaning of dreaming, if you don’t achieve it
If you believe it, then say it and mean it
The brain needs fuel so you gotta feed it. Knowledge is power, no eejits

Someone's Watching Over Me

Found myself today, Oh I found myself and ran away
But something pulled me back, voice of reason I forgot I had
All I know is you’re not here to say, what you always used to say
But it’s written in the sky tonight
I’ve seen that ray of light, and it’s shining on my destiny
Shining all the time and I won’t be afraid
To follow everywhere it’s taking me
All I know is yesterday is gone and right now I belong
To this moment, to my dreams
So I won’t give up, no I won’t break down, Sooner than it seems life turns around
And I will be strong even if it all goes wrong,
When I’m standing in the dark I will still believe
Someone’s watching over me
It doesn’t matter what people say and it doesn’t matter how long it takes
Believe in yourself and you will fly high
It only matters how true you are, believe in yourself and follow your heart
When I’m standing in the dark I’ll still believe
Someone’s watching over me  <3

Footprints

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonging to him and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints and that this happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.
He said, ‘Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you’d walk with me all the way. I don’t understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.
The Lord replied, ‘ My precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you only see one set of footprints, it was then I carried you.’

You're Special

In all the world there is nobody, nobody like you. Since the beginning of time there has never been another person like you. Nobody has your smile, your eyes, your hands, your hair. Nobody owns your handwriting, your voice. You’re Special.
Nobody can paint your brush strokes like you. Nobody has your taste for food or music or dance or art. Nobody in the universe sees things as you do. In all the time there has never been anyone who laughs in exactly your way, and what makes you laugh or cry may have a totally different response in another. So you’re special.
You’re different from any other person who has ever lived in the history of the universe. You are the only one in the whole creation who has your particular set of abilities. There is always someone who is better at one thing or another. Every person is your superior in at least one way. Nobody in the universe can reach the quality of the combination of your talents, your feelings; like a roomful of musical instruments, some might excel in one way or another but nobody can match the symphonic sound when all are played together. Your symphony. Through all eternity no one will ever walk, talk, think or do exactly like you. You’re Special.
You’re rare and in all rarity there is enormous value and because of your great value and the need for you to imitate anyone else is absolutely wrong. You’re special and it is no accident you are. You have been made for a special purpose – a job that no one else can do as well as you. Out of billions of applications, only one is qualified. Only one has the unique and right combination of what it takes and that one is you.

You’re Special
